Day 3: Phonsavanh – Plan of jars site 1 & 2- Long Chieng (100 Km)

Day 4: Long Chieng – Saysomboun – Muang Moc (180 km)

Day 5: Muang Moc – Vieng Thong – The Rock View Point (190 km)

Day 6: The Rock View Point – Kong lo caves – Nakhai – Nongphing village ( 260 km)

Day 7: Nongphing – Baulapha – Xepon (175 km)

Day 8: Xepon – Maung Nong – Toumlan – Tad Lord ( 220 Km)

Day 9: Tad Lord – Attapeu (270 km)

Day 10: Attapeu – Pakse ( 160 Km)

DAY 1: Laos Scenic Motorbike Tour from North to South via Hidden Trails: LUANG PRABANG  MOTORBIKE TOUR TO VIENGTHONG VIA PAK XIENG (238 KM)

In the morning we will ride on paved road along the Nam Xeuang River between limestone mountains for two hours before we stop for lunch.

After lunch we head up a dirt road to the top of the mountains where we will drive past villages of ethnic minorities as we ride along the ridge. We will have plenty of opportunities to stop for photos of the villages and the views.

After riding on the ridge we will reach the main road and go towards Vieng Thong where we will arrive in your resort in the late afternoon. You can refresh at the resort with a dip in their infinity pool and a cold Beer Lao.

DAY 2: VIENGTHONG MOTORBIKE TOUR TO PHONSAVAN (130KM)

After breakfast, we ride in isolated mountain areas towards today’s destination; the Plain of Jars in Xiengkhouang Province. This area is still heavily mined and remnants of the Indochina War can be seen everywhere even though the war ended a long time ago. Before we check in to the hotel we can visit the small Information Center of the ‘Mine Advisory Group’ (MAG) Laos. It performs UXO clearance in this heavily bombed province.

DAY 3: Laos Scenic Motorbike Tour from North to South via Hidden Trails: PHONSAVAN MOTORBIKE TOUR TO LONG CHIENG (100KM)

Today we continue our ride on Revolution Road to Lima site 20A (Long Chieng). At the height of the Secret War this was the busiest single runway airport in the world and the epicenter of the American led anti-communist efforts in Laos.

Once we arrive at Long Chieng we can visit the runway, the Royal Palace, and General Vangphao’s house. We will ride up Phou Mok Mountain to see the view of Long Chieng Village and the runway. In the afternoon we will visit an old temple in the village and enjoy some rice whisky while talking with village elders who were involved in the Indochina War.

DAY 4: LONG CHIENG MOTORBIKE TOUR TO MUANG MOC VIA SAYSOMBOUN (180KM)

The tough ride today is taking us through remote areas, deep in the forest, where villagers still live almost untouched by modern civilization. Expect to do some river crossings, especially in wet season.

Our lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Thavieng village. Afternoon we continue the challenging ride on this beautiful to Muang Moc Village, where will we arrive in the late afternoon. 

DAY 5: Laos Scenic Motorbike Tour from North to South via Hidden Trails: MUANG MOC MOTORBIKE TOUR TO THE ROCK VIEW POINT VIA VIENG THONG (190KM)

In morning we start with gravel road through limestone and minorities village close to Vietnamese’s border.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant Vieng Thong village, afternoon we ride on asphalt road through Namkading NPA to The Rock View Point where you will stay overnight.

The Rock Viewpoint opens the doors to the Phou Hin Boun National Protected Area. An uncharted world of ancient karstic forests, breath-taking views, and endemic wildlife in Central Laos. Immerse yourself in one of the largest limestone forest in all of Asia with a fascinating itinerary of zip lines, spider net.

In morning we ride on brand new about 50km From there it’s dirt roads and trails up towards the Xe Pian National Park. We then head onto tiny and twisting local tracks and ox-cart trails through the dense forests to take you to your first overnight stop on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The riding is truly wonderful. But you’ll have to concentrate on the many creek crossings. If you don’t want to be the first one to take a dip – but don’t worry, it’s so warm you’ll hardly notice. We arrived Sangaloun hotel in Pakse before sunset canopy walks.

The viewpoint, known as “The Peak of the loop” is a must stop on the Thakek Loop that also acts as a tourist information center for all visitors in Khammouane Province. Whether having a coffee at the Coffee Bar, delicious meal at the Khob Chai Deu restaurant or an incredible adventure is what you seek, the stunning views are assured!

DAY 6: THE ROCK VIEW POINT MOTORBIKE TOUR TO NONGPHING VILLAGE (260 KM)

Today we load our bikes into small wooden boats that will take us through a huge cave for 7.5km. After we reach the other side we ride along a dirt road with amazing view of limestone karts before arriving in Na Kai Village.

Here there is a massive hydropower project is underway and we’ll stop along the new reservoir several times to view the on-going construction. We will have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Nam Thern 2 Dam.

In the afternoon, we will continue our journey on a asphalt road through Him Namhor NPA. And take wooden canoe crossing Xebangfai river to Nong Phing village where we will stay overnight.

DAY 7: Laos Scenic Motorbike Tour from North to South via Hidden Trails: NONGPHING MOTORBIKE TOUR TO XEPON VIA BAULAPHA (175KM)

Nongphing Village is where one section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail enters Laos. The place is well known because of the Mu Gia Pass, referred to as the “Death Gate” during the Second Indochina War. The Ho Chi Minh Trail passed through pass and at one point it was estimated that over 75% of all traffic into Laos came through the pass. Mu Gia is now one of the main exit points from Laos to Vietnam.

From here we travel towards Xepon, crossing another river on a small canoe. We travel past limestone karsts on dirt roads before arriving in Xepon in the late afternoon.

DAY 8: XEPON MOTORBIKE TOUR TO TAD LORD (220KM)

Today’s ride is a run through the jungle in remote Laos. We’ll have to use boats to cross two rivers and work as a team to support each other. Stops along the way at small villages are often a real eye opener for locals and visitors alike. It’s a hard but satisfying ride and breaks today will be welcome. The ride is on and off the trail and taking you through dense jungle and limestone karsts before arriving in Tad Lord resort before sunset.

DAY 9: Laos Scenic Motorbike Tour from North to South via Hidden Trails: TAD LORD MOTORBIKE TOUR TO ATTAPEU (270KM)

In morning, we will have easy ride on asphalt through coffee plantation in Boravan plateau. After reach Duk Chung village continue to climb to give astounding views over the forests that cover the rolling hills below. The scars of the battles now hidden beneath the canopies of the trees. Take a break for a delicious lunch with the local people in Chaleunxai. Afternoon, we will have a quick blast along the blacktop to visit an enormous abandoned Russian missile. It’s a stark reminder of the turbulent history of the Ho Chi Minh trail, and great for selfies!

We arrived at hotel in Attapeu province before sunset.

DAY 10: ATTAPEU MOTORBIKE TOUR TO PAKSE (160KM)

It’s last day of riding on this Ho Chi Minh Trail motorcycle tour.
