Itinerary:
Day 1: Phnom Penh Motorbike Tour to Kampot (Approx. 150 km)
Your adventure begins as you leave the bustling capital of Phnom Penh behind, riding south along a mix of paved roads and scenic dirt tracks towards the coastal town of Kampot. The landscape changes quickly, shifting from urban sprawl to lush countryside dotted with palm trees, rice fields, and small rural villages. The ride offers plenty of chances to witness Cambodia’s tranquil rural life and stop at local pagodas and markets.
As you approach Kampot, the air becomes fresher with the influence of the nearby coast and rivers. Kampot is known for its relaxed vibe, French colonial architecture, and, of course, its famous pepper farms. In the afternoon, take a leisurely ride to one of the pepper plantations to learn about the production of Kampot pepper, renowned for its unique flavor. In the evening, enjoy a riverside dinner, watching the sunset over the Bokor Mountains. Overnight in a charming guesthouse by the river.
Day 2: Kampot Motorbike Tour to Kampong Chhnang (Approx. 200 km)
Leaving the coastal charm of Kampot behind, you’ll ride north towards Kampong Chhnang, a town famous for its traditional pottery and floating villages. The journey takes you through a combination of paved roads and off-road trails, giving you a taste of both adventure and rural beauty.
As you near Kampong Chhnang, the scenery becomes dominated by the Tonle Sap River, where the famous floating villages stretch out across the water. Spend time visiting these unique communities, where life revolves around the river, with houses, schools, and shops floating on the water. Later, visit the pottery villages where local artisans still create pottery using ancient techniques. Spend the night in a local guesthouse, enjoying the peaceful riverside atmosphere.
Day 3: Kampong Chhnang Motorbike Tour to Pursat (Approx. 150 km)
Day three takes you further along the Tonle Sap toward the quieter province of Pursat. This region is well-known for its marble production and scenic landscapes. The road is a mix of easy paved highways and dirt trails through remote areas, offering a true sense of adventure as you pass by rice paddies, small traditional stilt houses, and tranquil rural life.
Upon arrival in Pursat, visit the Kampong Luong Floating Village on the Tonle Sap Lake, one of the largest of its kind. The village is a fascinating sight, with homes, schools, and even temples floating on the lake. End your day by exploring the bustling local markets and enjoying an evening at a simple guesthouse, where you can savor local dishes made with fresh ingredients.
Day 4: Pursat Motorbike Tour to Battambang (Approx. 100 km)
Today’s journey is a relatively short but scenic ride to Battambang, Cambodia’s second-largest city. The road will take you through more rural landscapes, with picturesque rice paddies and small villages along the way. Battambang is famous for its well-preserved French colonial buildings and its rich history.
Upon arrival, take a ride on the famous Bamboo Train—a simple, motorized wooden platform that runs along abandoned train tracks. It’s a unique and thrilling experience that takes you through rural countryside at a brisk speed. Afterward, visit the Phnom Sampeau Caves, a site with a tragic history but breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. Spend the night in a charming riverside hotel or guesthouse in the heart of Battambang.
Day 5: Battambang Motorbike Tour to Siem Reap (Approx. 170 km)
On your final day, set out from Battambang towards the iconic city of Siem Reap, home to the world-famous Angkor Wat temple complex. The ride is a smooth and scenic journey through rural Cambodia, passing through villages and farmlands that provide a peaceful backdrop to the ride.
Arrive in Siem Reap in the afternoon, where you can begin exploring the incredible temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm—the latter famously featured in the film “Tomb Raider.” Spend your final night in Siem Reap, celebrating the end of your unforgettable motorbike adventure with a sunset view at the temples or a stroll through the lively night markets.
