Day 1: Phnom Penh Motorcycle Tour to Pursat (Approx. 160 km)

Your off-road adventure begins as you leave the bustling streets of Phnom Penh and head west toward Pursat, a province tucked away in the heart of Cambodia. The ride offers a mix of paved roads and dirt trails, immersing you in the rural beauty of Cambodia’s countryside, where rice paddies stretch as far as the eye can see.

In Pursat, visit the Kampong Luong Floating Village, located on the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake. This remarkable community lives on the water, and you’ll get a chance to witness the daily life of locals who rely on fishing for their livelihood. In the afternoon, explore Pursat’s marble quarries, where the province’s famous stonework originates. Enjoy an overnight stay at a local guesthouse, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of rural Cambodia.

Day 2: Pursat Motorcycle Tour to Battambang (Approx. 130 km)

On Day 2, continue your journey west to the historic city of Battambang, riding through a combination of off-road jungle trails and scenic rice fields. The journey takes you through small traditional Cambodian villages where you can interact with locals and learn about their way of life.

Upon arrival in Battambang, explore the city’s charming French colonial architecture, which reflects its rich cultural history. One of the highlights is a ride on the famous Bamboo Train, a quirky and thrilling experience on a makeshift train track through the countryside. In the afternoon, visit the Phnom Sampeau Caves, a historically significant site with beautiful views over the surrounding plains. 5 of us did the 10 day Northern Vietnam Off-road Loop at the end of November, very ably assisted by by our guide, Giang, and support vehicle driver, Dong.We logged over 1800km in 9 days of riding, saw some absolutely amazing scenery, partook in local delicacies, met and partied with ethnic people and had an epic trip.Everything around the trip was managed efficiently by Mike Dong, including organising Vietnamese drivers licences for us all. The bikes we had (CRF300L) performed well with only two flat tyres to speak of. The accommodation choices (apart from one night) were comfortable and adequate, the meals were delicious and plentiful.The whole trip went like clockwork and we got to see places few other tourist would ever get to see.I would definitely recommend this tour or shorter trips if you feel 10 days is a bit much.

We felt safe at all times and were allowed to experience small cultural excursions practically every day. He showed us beautiful places, introduced us to local culture and was able to tell us an incredible amount about the country. Brilliant 6 days, the tours are road based with a little bit of riding on un paved roads, Ducky was our guide, ex-road racer which suited us as we like to push on. Was amazing to see all the villagers, people waving, nothing like miserable old England where everyone thinks your doing something illegal. We did a 10 day tour. Lihn was our guide. Great guy. We had a Canadian guy join us, so 4 in total. Amazing time, 10 days few by. I had a gopro on my helmet facing forward, Lihn had one facing back.
