Not far away is Dong Khoi street, an area known for its five-star hotels and western-style shopping malls. Also observe the rapid changes occurring in Saigon with high rise buildings sprouting up everywhere and, most notably, the construction of the Saigon metro.
They Moving on to District 3 is  Pho Binh, one of the most famous Pho restaurants in Ho Chi Minh. During the war it was used as an operations base where the VC would plan attacks against the Americans.  The pho is excellent, by the way!
Another famous monument that we pass is in memory of Thích Quảng Đức. Remembered for the iconic photo of him setting himself ablaze in protest of the persecution of Buddhists in the 1960’s.
Take a break at a juice stand for a cool beverage to lighten the mood and take a breather.  Not far from the juice stand, pop by the famed Lê Hồng Phong high school and meet some local children and let them practice their English skills with you.
District 5 (or Cho Lon) is the Chinatown of Saigon and where the majority of goods trading occurs in Saigon.  One of the busiest markets in the city. From slippers to spices, you can buy anything here. Directly across the street is Ông Bổn pagoda.  A fine example of an old-fashioned temple.
Last stop, the Chinese herbal medicine street of Hải Thượng Lãng Ông. You’ll smell it before you even get there.  The scent of ginseng lingers everywhere, among the many other odours I wouldn’t even dare to imagine. See shops owned for generations prescribing natural medicines that have been used for thousands of years. This is one of the coolest parts of the tour, by far.
To end the trip we will travel along the modern canal road reflecting the contrast of district 1 and district 4. At the end of the ride, a Vietnamese restaurant will serve some delicious eats to finish off your Saigon experience.
