Motorcycle tour to Phnom Penh, Kampong Thom, Battambang, and Siem Reap – Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Phnom Penh motorcycle tour to Kampong Chhnang via Oudong (Approx. 140 km)
Your 6-day adventure begins with a ride north from Phnom Penh, heading towards the ancient capital of Oudong. You’ll leave the city behind as you traverse dirt roads and rural paths, passing through small villages where local life unfolds before you. The road to Oudong is a blend of scenic countryside and cultural stops, with opportunities to interact with locals along the way.
Upon reaching Oudong, you’ll explore the hilltop temples, which offer stunning views of the surrounding plains. These temples were once part of the Cambodian royal capital, and the area is steeped in history. After visiting Oudong, continue to Kampong Chhnang, a town famous for its pottery and its proximity to the Tonle Sap lake. You’ll have a chance to explore the floating villages and local markets before settling in for the night at a guesthouse in this charming riverside town.
Day 2: Kampong Chhnang motorcycle tour to Pursat (Approx. 150 km)
After breakfast, you’ll set off towards Pursat, riding along a combination of rural roads and dirt tracks. The journey will take you through vast rice paddies, remote villages, and scenic landscapes. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at local pottery villages, where traditional techniques are still used to create everyday household items.
As you approach Pursat, you’ll pass by Tonle Sap, Cambodia’s largest freshwater lake, which is home to unique floating villages. If time allows, you can take a boat tour of the floating communities to see how people live and work on the water. The ride itself is filled with off-road challenges, making this day both culturally enriching and full of adventure. Overnight in Pursat.
Day 3: Pursat motorcycle tour to Battambang (Approx. 130 km)
Today’s ride takes you to Battambang, one of Cambodia’s most charming cities. Battambang is known for its French colonial architecture, vibrant local markets, and rich history. The off-road trails leading to Battambang provide plenty of excitement, taking you through rugged terrain, rice fields, and rural communities. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to visit some of the smaller, lesser-known temples and shrines that dot the Cambodian countryside.
Upon reaching Battambang, explore the town’s colonial architecture and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. You can visit the local markets, the famous bamboo train, or take a walking tour of the town. Battambang is also home to several temples, including Wat Ek Phnom, a peaceful 11th-century temple surrounded by ancient trees. Overnight in Battambang.
Day 4: Battambang motorcycle tour to Sisophon (Approx. 120 km)
Leave Battambang behind as you ride towards Sisophon, another quiet provincial town on your way to Siem Reap. Today’s journey takes you along rural paths and off-road trails, offering plenty of opportunities to interact with local villagers and see Cambodia’s farming communities up close. The route is scenic and tranquil, with lush rice fields and distant mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
The town of Sisophon offers a peaceful stop on the road to Siem Reap. Although it’s a smaller and quieter town, it offers a glimpse into everyday life in rural Cambodia. You’ll spend the night here, giving you a chance to rest and recharge before continuing your journey towards the more remote temple complexes.
Day 5: Sisophon motorcycle tour to Beng Mealea (Approx. 140 km)
Today, you’ll head towards the incredible Beng Mealea temple, one of Cambodia’s most mysterious and less-visited temple complexes. The off-road trails become more rugged as you enter the jungle, with the scenery changing to dense forests and winding paths. You’ll pass through remote villages, where you’ll experience the quiet, untouched side of Cambodia.
Upon arrival at Beng Mealea, you’ll be greeted by the sight of a massive temple complex that has been swallowed by the jungle. With trees and vines growing through its crumbling stone structures, Beng Mealea feels like a place frozen in time. Spend the afternoon exploring the temple’s hidden corners, admiring the intricate carvings, and enjoying the peace and quiet of this remote location. Overnight near Beng Mealea.
Day 6: Beng Mealea motorcycle tour to Siem Reap (Approx. 100 km)
The final leg of your offroad adventure takes you from Beng Mealea to Siem Reap, the gateway to the temples of Angkor. The route offers more dirt roads and rural paths, taking you through scenic countryside, rice fields, and small villages. As you ride towards Siem Reap, the landscape gradually transitions from rural farmland to the bustling energy of the city.
Arrive in Siem Reap by the afternoon, completing your 6-day journey through Cambodia’s stunning landscapes, remote temples, and off-the-beaten-path trails.
