Day 1: Phnom Penh Motorcycle Tour to Kampong Cham (Approx. 120 km)

Heading northeast along a scenic mix of paved roads and dirt trails, you’ll pass through Cambodia’s countryside, where traditional wooden stilt houses dot the landscape. The road soon turns more rugged, allowing you to navigate challenging dirt tracks, ideal for an off-road ride.

Arriving in Kampong Cham, a charming town along the Mekong River, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the town’s colonial architecture and local culture. A must-see is Wat Nokor, a unique 11th-century temple that blends ancient Khmer architecture with more modern Buddhist elements. In the late afternoon, take a relaxing stroll along the Mekong River, where you can watch the sunset and absorb the peaceful atmosphere of the town. Spend the night at a local guesthouse, enjoying the riverside views and local cuisine.

The route takes you off the beaten path, following dirt tracks that wind through rubber plantations, small farming villages, and riverside communities. The peaceful scenery of the Mekong and the rural life along its banks create a picturesque ride, with plenty of opportunities to stop and interact with locals.

Once you reach Kratie, enjoy a boat tour to see the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins, known for their playful and curious nature. Afterward, take time to explore Kratie’s French colonial architecture and lively markets. As the day winds down, relax at a guesthouse along the river, enjoying a laid-back evening in this charming town.

Day 3: Kratie Motorcycle Tour to Kampong Thom (Approx. 170 km)

On the third day, you’ll ride southwest toward Kampong Thom, a province filled with history and culture. The route leads you through a combination of backroads and off-road dirt trails, providing another day of exhilarating riding. As you pass through rural villages, you’ll witness the traditional lifestyle of Cambodian farmers, with rice paddies, palm trees, and cattle lining the paths.

Arriving in Kampong Thom, your first stop is the Sambor Prei Kuk Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that predates the Angkor temples by several centuries. This ancient city was once a major center of the Khmer Empire, and today, its forest-covered ruins are a serene and fascinating place to explore. Wander among the ancient temples, taking in the unique architecture and history. After a day of exploration, rest at a local guesthouse for the evening.
