Itinerary:
7h30: Your tour guide and motorbike driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi in the morning, typically around 8:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic motorbike ride from Hanoi to Duong Lam Ancient Village, located about 50 kilometers (31 miles) to the northwest of the city. During the journey, you’ll pass through rural landscapes, rice paddies, and traditional villages. Upon arrival, take a leisurely stroll through the village’s narrow streets and ancient houses. Duong Lam is known for its well-preserved traditional architecture, with houses made of laterite and mud-brick dating back hundreds of years.
Duong Lam is renowned for its well-preserved ancient houses, some of which are over 400 years old. These houses are made of laterite bricks and wooden beams, showcasing traditional Vietnamese architecture. Walking through the narrow alleys and entering these historic homes will give you a glimpse of the village’s ancient past.
Mong Phu communal house serves as the village’s cultural and religious center. It is dedicated to the village’s founding fathers, and its architecture is a beautiful example of traditional Vietnamese temple design. Another significant religious site in Duong Lam is the Mia Pagoda, which dates back to the 15th century. The pagoda houses a collection of 287 statues of all sizes, including a large statue of Buddha made from precious wood. As you explore the village, you’ll come across ancient wells and communal houses, which were once essential gathering places for the community. These structures played a crucial role in the daily lives of the villagers and offer insight into their cultural practices.
Duong Lam is still a living village, and you’ll have the opportunity to witness traditional activities carried out by the locals. Depending on the season, you may see farmers tending to their rice fields, artisans crafting traditional products, or villagers engaging in various daily routines.

Afternoon:
After lunch, hop back on the motorbike and head to Ba Vi National Park. The national park is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Hanoi and offers a stunning natural setting with lush forests and mountainous landscapes.
Upon reaching Ba Vi, explore the park’s attractions, which may include a visit to the Ba Vi Temple, located atop one of the mountains. The temple offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Depending on the time and your preferences, you can enjoy some leisurely walks or short hikes through the park, breathing in the fresh mountain air and taking in the natural beauty of the area.
In the afternoon, we start the journey back to Hanoi on the motorbike.
You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi, marking the end of the motorbike tour.
